The most popular celebrity mom tells what she wants to teach the most important person in her life right now... her seven-month-old daughter
SHE was voted Philippines’ sexiest actress in 2014 and became the star of a fairytale “royal wedding” in 2015. But this year, Marian Rivera plays the biggest role of her life, one that she wished and prayed for all her life—as mother to her “mini me”, seven-month old Maria Letizia Dantes a.k.a. Baby Zia.
After taking a hiatus from the biz during her pregnancy, the Kapuso superstar is now back on TV with a new daily morning talk show, Yan Ang Morning, and the Sunday Kapuso variety show, Sunday Pinasaya. She also plays “Ynang Reyna” in the much awaited Encantadia 2016 remake.
She’s only been a mommy for all of seven months, but Marian – the only daughter of an OFW mom and raised by her maternal lola – already knows how what she wants to teach her daughter:
Be a good, loving daughter
“Since I gave birth… with all the sacrifices of both the mother and father, there is no reason for children to talk back to their parents. I pray that when my daughter grows up, all the love I give to her [and the love my mother gives to me], she will also have the same love for me.”
“I am very thankful to my grandmother because she really gave meaning to my life. It’s not true that when both your parents are not around, your life will have no direction. I’m thankful for my grandmother who raised me to be strong.”
“Hindi mo mabibili ang diploma. Ako kasi, kahit anong sabihin nila about me, naka-tapos ako ng pag-aaral ko. So yun ang wish ko sa kanya, makagraduate siya. At kung anong gusto niya sa buhay niya, [kung gusto or ayaw niya mag-artista] susuportahan namin siya.”
