Bonds of friendship will grow stronger

As the Philippines usherS in a new president …

Singapore is host to many Filipinos who have found employment opportunities in the industrial, manufacturing, services and domestic sectors. This translated to more than a billion dollars worth of remittances in 2015.

We are pleased to know that we can count on the support of strong partners like Singapore as the Philippines prepares for its chairmanship during Asean’s Golden Jubilee next year. Certainly, we are grateful that Singapore continues to engage with the Philippines and be a part of our economic growth story.

As we usher in a new president and a new administration... we are confident and optimistic that the bonds of friendship between our two countries and peoples will be further strengthened, and that cooperation will not only continue but even be further enhanced in the years to come.

Filipinos lend diversity to Singapore’s

multi-ethnic society

The Filipino community is growing here… Filipino designers, nurses, architects, educators, IT professionals, all sorts of professions, lend vibrancy and diversity to our multi-ethnic society. Likewise, many Singaporeans are going to the Philippines... for business and recreation. I hear Boracay is becoming a favourite honeymoon destination for many Singaporean newlyweds, so maybe that would encourage Singaporeans to get married and have baby.

The Philippines is to embark on a new chapter of political transition with the successful conclusion of its national elections.

As its longstanding friend, Singapore looks forward to continuing our good cooperation with President-elect Rodrigo Duterte and his administration.

Always protect the weak

Six years have passed and we are well on our way towards resurgence: I call on all of you to engage deeper in nation-building, remain steadfast on the path of morality and justice, and always protect the weak and marginalized, as we transition to the next chapter of our country’s narrative.

Protection for OFWs

Love our flag

- Excerpt from speech of Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col Aderito Navata at the flag-raising ceremony on Philippine Independence Day at the Philippine Embassy

Dignity of the human being

The Philippines is now widely acknowledged for its steady rise as a dynamic economic growth hub... and as a stronghold for democracy with its constituent values that places supremacy on the dignity and worth of the human being.
