The helper: CATHLEEN PECSON, 32, from Tuguegarao has been working with her employers for almost two years
My ma'am is my best friend because 'di ko maramdaman na amo ko siya. Hindi nila pinaramdam sakin na katulong ako. Madalas meron kaming 'girl talk'.
I will never forget nung sumali ako sa event na Miss Goddes Singapore last year, nandun sila para manood at sumuporta sakin. Tapos, nung concert nila dito sa Singapore, nag-group photo kami. Sabi nila, "Come, Cath, we take photo as family picture." Na-overwhelmed ako sa narinig ko. Yung boss kong lalaki, multi-awarded siya sa UK kaya it's a great pleasure to be treated as their family member. In spite of their successful music careers, 'di nila ako ikinahiyang makasama sa group photo.
My employers are the best because sila yung nagpapaalala sakin kung ano nakabubuti o hindi. Kahit na malayo na ako sa kanila, they said they still want to Skype with me.
The employer: NICOLA PARRY GLOVER, British
I treat my helper as best friend/family because she is always respectful, professional and she fulfils her role perfectly for our family. She deserves our respect.
What I love most about her is how great she is with our daughter. She is gentle, kind and loving. She always has our daughter's best interest at heart and she treats her as if she were her own. Our daughter loves her. We also love her sense of humour. And I personally love having another girl in the house so we can have a good chat!
The helper: ARLENE ALVARADO, 33, from Iloilo City
My ma'am is my best friend because I can tell her everything about myself, including my love life (if meron),my problems, and my family back home. I can also always talk to her about some of my friends here, kahit 'di niya kilala, or what I do during my off day.
I will never forget yung unang araw ko sa kanila, she welcomed me as one of the family. Kasama kumain sa iisang table, sa bahay man o sa labas; kung ano kainin nila, ganun din sa akin or I choose kung ano gusto ko. Pag may emergency sa Pinas, she always offers to help me without asking for anything back. In 2013, bigla namatay Nanay Noemi ko.
My ma'am is the best employer hindi dahil marami na siyang naitulong sakin, kundi dahil mabait talaga siya, not only to me but to her sibling's helper, too, and her employees, She is the type who believes in karma, na kung anong ginagawa mo sa ibang tao babalik din sayo.
The employer: JIN TEO BEE LAY, Singaporean
I treat my helper as best friend/family because she is the best to me, so she deserves the best in return.
What I love most about her is her courage to put her life back home on hold to join my family in Singapore, her patience and commitment not to her job as my helper, but as a member of our family, her bubbly, kind and outspoken character that makes her who she is... Too many to list! I love everything about her. Given another choice, I would still choose her not just as a helper, but as a friend and a family member.
The helper: MICHELL PALERO, 36, from Iloilo (working with employer for 12 years)
My ma'am is my best friend because lahat ng bagay magkasundo kami.
I will never forget yung time na tinulungan nila ako (both ma'am and sir) nung may family problem ako at nagdecide na umuwi ng Pinas for good na sana. They contacted my close friends and pinsan to ask for help na tawagan ako at alamin kung anong nangyari sakin. The next day, tinawagan ko sila if pwedeng bilhan nila akong ticket at gusto kong bumalik sa Singapore.
My ma'am is the best employer because she's always there to understand me when I have problems.
The employers: AUDREY TAN & EDWIN WONG, Singaporeans.
I treat my helper as best friend/family because she resembles my sister and the way we think are alike.
What I love most about her is how straightforward she is. She can give me advice whenever I need one.
The helper: THEA GRACE JESURA, 38, from Iloilo (working with employer for 2.5 years)
My ma'am is my best friend because she's always willing to discuss my problem especially about my kids. She always comforts me. She's so open-minded so we can share our thoughts, like how to improve and handle properly our two girls, my mga alaga.
I will never forget how they invited my three kids ang my mother to spend a holiday here for 15 days. She put herself in my shoes and said she knows how I feel being far away from my family. They offered to let my family stay in their house since they were going to France for holidays, too. We know it's seldom for an employer to make an effort to do this just to make their helpers happy. I am so lucky to have them as my second family.
My ma'am is the best because she always thinks about my needs. She always thinks about what I feel comfortable with. She always respects my rules and the way I care for her daughters. You know, the feeling that their house is your home and that they are my family.
The employer: MARINE KOCH, French
I treat my helper as best friend/family because she is taking good care of my children. She is a person of great integrity, reliable and joyful.
What I love most about her is her energy! She is a super-Nanny!
The helper: CRISTINE MENDOZA SAYCO, 53, from Bulacan (working with employer for two years)
My ma'am is my best friend because she is so understanding. She really listens when I have a problem, especially regarding my financial stability, and then she always helps me.
I will never forget what she did for me when I got sick. She asked me to go to bed and rest because she said I worked so hard for two years, it's time for her to take care of me. She asked what I wanted to eat and then she would cook it for me.
My ma'am is the best because she and her husband are so kind to me. If they take a holiday, then I also have a holiday. Three times I went for holiday in the Philippines, all expenses paid for by ma'am and sir. They are the best because they have honour and they respect me. Their two boys that I look after are so sweet. I work for them with respect and no hesitation because they love and accept me for who I am. Also, when they are away, they let me invite my friends to gather in their house. Even when ma'am's parents are around, I feel comfortable with them. Oh yeah, and during my birthday, they always have a gift for me, treat me for dinner, and buy a cake so we can celebrate as one family.
